The 25th anniversary of Deaf President Now (DPN) movement occurred in March 2013. This civil rights movement culminated with the appointment of a deaf president for the first time in 124 years of Gallaudet's history. To recognize the significance of this milestone for the Deaf community, the university planned a semester long lecture series to understand fundamental questions about the impact of DPN on the lives of deaf people in the United States and the world.
