Miaad: I am a practicing Muslim from another country. Let me tell you a little bit about Ramadan.
Maryia: Ramadan includes prayer five times a day: Morning at sunrise, noon, afternoon, evening and night.
Miaad: Ramadan is considered the 9th month of the Muslim year.
This year’s Ramadan has been from April 2 -May 2, 2022
Muslims from different part of the world celebrate different days/times.
On the last day of Ramadan, we celebrate Eid,
Which is the Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan.
Mariya: Gallaudet University has a close Muslim community,
I celebrate Ramadan with my Muslim brothers and sisters.
We help each other with our school work and with food, and give support.
Despite our families being so far away, we stick together as one family here.
