Deaf Video #193 Oral Deaf History Project: Ernest Marshall. John Schuchmann interviews Ernest Marshall, a deaf pioneer in film making. Ernest was born in Poughskeepsie, New York. Ernest was born deaf, and came from third generation of deaf families. Ernest divulged that he taught himself how to film and edit the film, sharing experiences of acting and producing with different deaf actors. Ernest mentioned that he would find different small odd jobs to make ends meet.
