Hi! I'm Jennie Sivak and I serve as the Title IX Coordinator for Gallaudet University and Clerc Center. I am interested in becoming a GSC representative for the Administration division since I was nominated and saw this as a fantastic opportunity to share my leadership skills and experience while continuing to hone those skills through Gallaudet Staff Council. I was born a leader since I was young and was involved with many organizations as officers and through committees. Active listening and problem-solving are my strongest strengths within my skill set. While contributing my skills and experience towards this position, I believe that we always have a solution for everything and it is healthy to discuss opportunities and challenges then work towards a solution where all will benefit from. I am a doer and once I make a commitment, I commit to it wholeheartedly. I have been fortunate to work at Gallaudet for many years in different roles working with students, parents, community, and administrators. I'm in my second year working for Gallaudet University in my current role after wonderful years with Clerc Center so I am eager to meet people and develop relationships with our constituents. With Gallaudet Staff Council, it takes a community to rally together to make our environment and workplace the best it can be. If elected as a representative for the Administration division, I will be the "voice" for the staff within the division along with other Administration Representatives and ensure that they are heard and convey their stories and concerns to GSC. We all want the best for each other and for Gallaudet University and Clerc Center. I sincerely hope you will consider my candidacy for this position as I truly believe my skill set and experience will be put in great use.
