MJ: Over the past two years there have been meetings of Gallaudet’s Bilingual Mission Framework Task Force, consisting of faculty, staff and students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We have come together and worked diligently to develop the framework to guide our bilingual mission. We’re thrilled to announce that this is ready to be shared with the community. [FADE OUT]

CAREY: The upcoming Bilingual Framework will be disseminated using a visually-oriented design context that includes ASL video presentations, animations, and imagery. This resource will allow the Gallaudet community to feel connected to and fully comprehend the definition of a bilingual university. [FADE OUT]

LAURENE: This framework demonstrates the support for the common values of ASL and written English. In turn, this will support an environment that nurtures intellectual and social identity, to truly embrace all aspects of intersectionality. This framework also bolsters Gallaudet University as a truly bilingual university. [FADE OUT]
