RSIA receives State Department grant
Congratulations to our Office of Research Support and International Affairs (RSIA)! Dr. Charles Reilly and Becca AbuRakia-Einhorn have received a grant from the U.S. Department of State to research and disseminate “best practices” in providing access to college students who are deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing in participating in education abroad. Their project was one of 21 selected for funding out of 121 applications. Again, congratulations!
Alabama School for the Deaf graduation
President Cordano was the keynote speaker at the Alabama School for the Deaf graduation on May 23, and enjoyed meeting the graduates and their families. She also met with Gallaudet alumni in Talladega. As you may know, Gallaudet and AIDB soon will open a new regional center, providing expertise in early intervention and early language acquisition to families and professionals serving deaf children in nine Southeastern states. We will tell you more about this new partnership in a future Hi5.
