Deaf Video #33 - Festival of American Folklife 07/02/1981 on the National Mall - Washington, D.C., sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution. Tom Fields did a demonstration on how deaf people wake up in the morning before electronic was invented. Simon Carmel gives a background information on the "history" of American Foklife - Deaf has come to be a part of this exhibit. This clip has a panel discussion on how they became deaf. The panelists are Jack Gannon, Bill Ennis, Nathie (Marbury) Couthen and Debbie Sonnenstrahl.
